Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation and expertise and exercises functional authority over coworkers at project site in essential matters in Safety & Health.
  • Formulate and implement safety programs that promote occupational safety and health protection for project
  • Establish and implement safety training. Conduct or provide for safety/health related training. Maintain its training records and a database of employee training, licenses, and competence certifications
  • Ensure that occupational safety and health policies are observed and planned activities carried out at project
  • Conduct and supervise facility and site inspections, job hazards analyses and other evaluations to identify hazards and potential risks. Make recommendations to site manager as required and implement appropriate corrective actions. Conduct audits of corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations and corrective action.
  • Conduct post accident investigation. Develop and chair a plant and / project accident review committee.  Make recommendations for changes in equipment and or processes to correct unsafe conditions.  Assess incident statistics to determine requirements for new or modified training.
  • Assist with other risk management and environmental health issues.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other project site employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Site Manager
Requirements:
  • At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Knowledge of HSE requirements, standards, rules and regulations and be able to monitor compliance and identify ways of reducing environmental impact
  • Proactive, fast response, always seeking continuous improvement, and motivator.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of employee training
  • Knowledge of report preparation and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge & skill to conduct accident investigation
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine proper course of action
